Liebe Freunde liebe Familie
Hey everybody. It was a very good week this week. We had zone training
meeting in Oldenburg and elder Bodtcher and I gave a lesson on
obedience. One of the new things that I learned was that you don't
have to know why you should be obedient. A perfect example of this is
Adam. After they were shut out of the garden he started offering
sacrifices to the lord and an angel appear d to him and asked why he
was doing it. Adam replied I don't know but God commanded me so I am
going to do it. Last week we also did aus Tauch (exchanges) I went to
Oldenburg with elder cook. We have decided that the zone leaders and
us are mirrored companion ships elder cook is very much like me kind
of chill doesn't really care what other people think or how things
look. He loves lord of the rings, and jay z. Elder Peterson is
obsessed with Taylor swift, he's definitely aware of germs, and he
loves conspiracies. It's really weird. But I learned a lot in this
exchange. Elder cook taught me how to make finding more personal with
people and not just sound like a robot. It's super hard for me to be
personal in German. Also the people here are very blunt and don't mix
words so I'm trying to be a lot more bold in my finding and speaking
efforts. We had someone tell us that he thinks Americans aren't very
logical or they don't think things through. But we just shrug it off
(sort of) and keep going.
Yesterday we had a delicious meal of Grünkohl and Kartoffeln and a ton
of meat. It was sooooo yummy. We had this sausage called pinkel. It's
very interesting because you can't eat the skin. What you do is you
cut it length wise and you scrape the meat out of the sausage it
pretty much tastes like meatloaf with a little bit of German inside.
Spiritual thought
This week in ZTM we had a lesson from the zone leaders about Jesus
Christ and what we can do to give him. Elder Peterson said something I
found interesting. He said that no matter what we do or give we will
always be in debt. No matter what we do our savior gives more back. We
can give him our very best we can love him and serve him but the
blessings we receive in return are immense and bountiful. I will
always to my best to serve and love my brother Jesus Christ, because
he did something for me and all of us that I will never be able to
repay. I know he will come again and that he lives, he was crucified
and he atoned for our sins and on the third day he rose from the dead.
I glorify in my redeemer and am eternally grateful for him. I hope
that we can find something to give in return to our savior and I hope
we can remember him always not just during Christmas but every day of
our lives. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.
Parker's favorite scripture
A Psalm of David
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; they rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
